This was my first introduction to Black Limba, which is now one of my favorite woods to work with. It’s a hardwood with a lot of character and finishes beautifully to create a rustic yet quality feel. I was commissioned to make this as a gift for a newly wed couple to display their wedding photos. While admittedly, the overall concept is not my own (see pinterest), I did take some liberty with the material and built it to my scrupulous standards.
The storage box wasn’t part of the order, but I felt it needed it for presentation and I couldn’t resist using a lid with a naturally occurring heart in the middle of it!
